Schools

Two school districts mange the schools in this area: River Heights, east of Kenaston, is part of Winnipeg School District #1, and Tuxedo, west of Kenaston, is part of Assiniboine South School District #3. River Heights has 8 elementary schools, 4 religious private schools (one Christian, two Hebrew, one Mennonite), and secondary students go to nearby Grant Park just to the east. Shopping in the area is concentrated along the major east-west thoroughfares. Tree-lined Academy Road, between Kenaston and Elm Streets, has a variety of gourmet food stores, gift shops, as well as upscale boutiques, restaurants and services. There are two small malls, Tuxedo Park on Corydon, and Kenaston Village on Grant. For major shopping expeditions, many area residents head east a bit to Grant Park.
